It is the right of people’s deputies to raise the issue of dismissal of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Thereat, it means that such an initiative will find support in the session hall.
The First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ihor Kalyetnik said this on Friday.
“150 signatures is the number of votes that allows initiating the dismissal of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. But to consider this issue in the session hall 226 votes are required. I am convinced that “Batkivshchyna”, “UDAR” and “Svoboda” will not find them,” said Ihor Kalyetnik.
He added also that there were no grounds to raise the issue of dismissal of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, for Volodymyr Rybak did not violate any provision of the Rules of Procedure by not allowing convene an extraordinary session of the Verkhovna Rada.
“The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada had two mutually exclusive documents. The first – was the signed letters of 158 people’s deputies. On the other – the letter of the people’s deputy, testifying to the fact that 11 parliamentarians were abroad during the period of January 22 to January 24 and physically could not sign the document of convening an extraordinary session. Let me remind that the Verkhovna Rada Secretariat has not yet confirmed seven signatures. There were no 150 signatures within the Rules of Procedure. That is why, it is not an issue due to which the dismissal should have been initiated,” the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada noted.
According to Ihor Kalyetnik, there is no reason to hold extraordinary elections to the Verkhovna Rada.
“There should be reason to hold extraordinary elections. Particularly, if within thirty days of one session the Parliament fails to start a plenary session, the President may terminate the authority of the Verkhovna Rada. As of today, there are no such grounds. The wish of certain politicians is not a reason,” I.Kalyetnik stressed.
